SpEd Resources

Special Education: where do I begin? Of course there are plenty of .gov/doe resources available, but they’re really overwhelming and wordy and while they are important, I prefer teacher-friendly resources…

Reading Resources…because every teacher is a reading teacher in some way.

Reading Rockets has resources for teaching reading, tips and strategies for struggling readers, videos, and articles (which you can filter for specific audiences: parent, teacher, school counselor, speech pathologist, principal, pre-school teacher). There is also a page on Reading Topics A-Z which has resources for dyslexia, special educationdevelopmental milestones, stages of literacy (phonemic awareness, phonics and decodingfluencyprint awarenessvocabularyreading comprehension, and more). More for SpEd: learning disabilities, response to intervention, and just refer to the Reading Topics A-Z for several more.
